Chapter 10

Chapter 10- Authentic Leadership Theory

What is Authentic Leadership? Authentic leaders tend to be self-actualized individuals who are aware of their strengths, their limitations, and their emotions. They also show their real selves to their followers. They do not act one way in private and another in public; they don’t hide their mistakes or weaknesses out of fear of looking weak.

This reminded me of myself because I tend to tell things how they are with no filter when I really get to know you. I rely on myself to create a mission and work towards that goal. I focus on the long term but making sure I do not get ahead of myself in work projects. I take small tasks and develop them to be the best it can be. With that being said, I always follow my heart through absolutely everything. No one is better to judge than yourself and relying on your faith.

With learning to be more optimistic is something I strive for I learned techniques from this chapter to help change that.

  1. How can being optimistic overcome certain fears with being a leader?
  2. Why is showing emotion sometimes the only point you can make when referencing back to something?
